Departed U.S. Marines of the Korean DMZ, Section 1

Dennis Martin

Dennis “Frenchy” Martin was born November 10, 1934 and died June 15, 2000. He was a Corporal in the 1st Provisional Demilitarized Zone Police Company. When he left the company Dennis was stationed at Marine Barracks, Portsmouth, NH with his friend “Mad Dog” Mulkern. When he left the Corps, Dennis went to work for the power company in Berlin, NH where he was born. Dennis is missed. He was a fun-guy and a good drinking buddy.

Dennis Martin is buried at: Mt Calvary Cemetery, Berlin, NH 03570

He won’t be mourned by many,

Just his children and his wife.

For he lived an ordinary, very quiet sort of life.

He held a job and raised a family, quietly going on his way;

And the world won't note his passing 'tho a Marine died today.

When politicians leave this earth, their bodies lie in state;

While thousands note their passing,

And proclaim that they were great.

Papers tell of their life stories,

From the time they were young,

But the passing of a Marine,

Goes unnoticed, and unsung.
